Colin Beattie, MPT, BSc (Kin)
Colin holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a focus in Sports Injury Management from Acadia University and a Masters of Physical Therapy from The University of British Columbia. He holds his certification for medical acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and continues to pursue ongoing education in his advanced manual therapy and dry needling techniques. As a Kinesiologist and registered Physiotherapist, Colin is trained in the analysis of human movement and uses these skills to assess, diagnosis and treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries throughout the body with a particular interest in lumbo-pelvic dysfunction and tendon rehab.
Colin believes in the body’s incredible capacity for adaptation. Every injury has multiple and unique influences, causes and barriers to recovery and he believes that it is only through effective and consistent communication that these can be identified and dealt with in order to ensure timely results and durable change. Colin places significant value on scientific literature to guide his practice and evidence continues to demonstrate how effective conservative treatment can be if done properly. In a session with Colin he will reference this research to demonstrate your capacity for change, ease any fears around your injury experience and leave you feeling confident and optimistic for your recovery. He understands that being injured is a vulnerable time in ones life and knows that the only way to improve and stay motivated is through a well-defined treatment plan based on your goals and expectations. It is because of these core values that he has been recognized as one of the top three Physiotherapists in Victoria for 2017 by threebestrated.ca.
