Heather Giasson R.Ac.
Registered Acupuncturist R.Ac, Essential Oil Therapist EOT
Heather graduated from Pacific Rim College’s Diploma of Acupuncture program in 2012 and is a licensed Registered Acupuncturist. Studying Traditional Chinese Medicine has offered her the opportunity to approach health and overall wellness through a different perspective. The core of her practice philosophy is to successfully translate TCM theory into a modern clinical practice that supports the overall wellbeing and harmony of her clients. Considering health as the multi-faceted balance between physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing has become the cornerstone and trademark of Heather’s treatments. She strongly supports client education during the course of treatment and creates personalized treatment plans to address the unique goals of each client.
Heather has experienced a wide range of clients and her experience lies within musculoskeletal injury recovery, pre/post surgery recovery, MVA rehabilitation, repetitive strain injuries, pain management and addiction. She is has also treated a great deal of chronic headache, digestive and sleep disorders with great success. Heather also has a keen interest in addressing overall stress within treatment plans in order to best address each client as a whole. She blends Tui Na (Chinese Massage), cupping, gua sha, NADA addiction protocol and uses orthopaedic, 5 Element and 8 Principle Acupuncture Theory within her treatments. Optimizing cellular function through Low Level Red Light Therapy or Photobiomodulation Therapy is also sometimes an adjunct in Heather’s treatments. Studies are showing strong support for decreasing joint pain, optimizing cellular regeneration processes (healing potential), cellulite reduction and many other health benefits. Techniques are integrated into treatment sessions when appropriate to help support clients with their healing. See www.joovv.com for more Red Light Therapy information.
Through her years of experience Heather has been drawn to understanding the essential yet elusive emotional healing component missing in many modern treatment techniques. Her studies have led to enrolling in the Dynamic Emotional Integration Program which helps create a conscious dialogue between feelings, intellect and behaviours. Very often during physical injury treatments emotional healing opportunities will arise as well, so having an avenue to address these equally impactful injuries to the psyche is crucial for optimal healing outcomes.
To continue her studies, Heather has completed her Registered Aromatherapist and Essential Oil Therapist certification and includes essential oils in many of her treatments for relaxation, soft tissue injury and insomnia. She has also had specialty training in 5 Element Theory, Facial Rejuvenation, NADA addictions protocol and musculoskeletal orthopaedic acupuncture.
Essential Oil Therapy, Chinese Diet Therapy, Tui Na Massage, Essential Oil Therapist, NADA Addictions Protocol, Photobiomodulation therapy, and is a current student of the Dynamic Emotional Integration Training Program.
