This summer marks the hundredth anniversary of the Guns of August and the start of World War I.

To mark this somber occasion, I will going riding through France on the Wounded Warriors Battlefield Ride to raise money for PTSD for our Canadian Soldiers. The money we raise provides canine and equine therapy programs, where injured veterans are rehabilitated with the assistance of animal companionship.

The Ride in June

We ride from Juno Ridge in Normandy to Vimy Ridge, just outside of Calais.

The tour lasts for 8 days and and over 700 km, hitting all the battlefields the Canadians fought in during World War I.

It’s an amazing cause and if you ever known anyone with PTSD it’s more crippling than a physical disability in many ways.

Wounded Warriors works hard to help veterans and other living with PTSD.

Founded in 2006, Wounded Warriors Canada is a non-profit organization that helps Canadian Forces members – be they full time or reservists – who have been wounded or injured in their service to Canada.

Wounded Warriors helps find solutions for current and former members of the Canadian Forces where gaps have left them in need.

While providing programs to all members of the Canadian Forces who have been wounded or injured, the non-profit’s primary focus is on reservist mental health. They also focus on physical health support, and life skills development for all members of the Canadian Forces who have been wounded or injured.

We are riding as Team Synergy and really want to help our veterans out.

Thank you for your compassion and caring.
