Mitchell Rankin
BKin
Kinesiologist
Mitchell completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours at Acadia University in Nova Scotia and is now a practicing member of the BCAK. He spent his final two years at Acadia volunteering as a student therapist with Men’s Varsity hockey and has 3 years of experience as a Kinesiologist working with chronic injury populations. Furthermore, he is certified as a Functional Capacity Evaluation assessor.
Mitchell became interested in Kinesiology and exercise through 13 years of competitive hockey, ending his career in Junior A playing in the Maritime Hockey League. His experience during concussion recovery in his final season informed his research interests which turned into his first thesis exploring mental health during recovery from sport-related concussion.
Injury rehabilitation in all walks of life remains a passion of Mitchell, having worked with a wide range of clientele from high performance athletics to chronic injury. He strives to find root causes of injury and make exercise accessible in everyday routines. You’ll find he’s quick to celebrate the little victories in his sessions, such as a new exercise completed or a new weight attempted.
When not in the clinic, you will find Mitchell in the gym lifting weights, on walks through his community, or practicing his guitar!
