Katie grew up in Collingwood, Ontario with aspirations of attending the winter Olympics for downhill skiing. Failing that, she attended Queen’s University for six years obtaining a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education, a Bachelor of Science, and a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy.
In addition to being a registered physiotherapist, Katie is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. While at Queen’s she completed internships in athletic therapy and strength and conditioning. She worked on the field and in the gym with several varsity teams including men’s football, men’s volleyball, and women’s basketball.
Katie spent the 2010-2011 race season with the Alpine Ontario women’s ski team as a coach and therapist. Afterwards, she began clinical work at the Honsberger Physiotherapy and Biomechanics clinic where she was able to refine her holistic approach to physical therapy. Using a model of biomechanical balance, her goal is to provide focused and sustainable treatment programs for people of all ages and abilities.
When she’s not at work you can find her in the pool or on the trails preparing for her next XTERRA race.
